Gargoyles fanfic characters

My brother and I wrote a Gargoyles fanfic based on the cartoon that used to be on Disney Channel. The main characters are a group of heroic gargoyles known as the Manhattan clan and their leader's name is Goliath, some of them are named cities in the USA.

A gargoyle is a creature that during the day is a statue monster or demon but at night it comes to life and flies around. You can see plenty of them on the top of cathedrials or other gothic buildings.

• Burbank

My character, not to be confused with Hudson's clone who is also named Burbank. He has bluish skin with dark red stripes, wings that are coloured silver, and he has emerald green eyes. He has all the standard gargoyle powers and keen senses and he is also amazingly intelligent and is able to speak a multitude of different languages.

• Washington

My brother's character, a greyish gargoyle with a stars and stripes pattern on his wings, much like the character of Beetoven from Millitary Koalas he is based on Stephen Colbert. In addition to having all the standard powers that a gargoyle has such as keen senses and super strength, he is also able to breathe underwater and can shoot laser beams out of his eyes.

• Florida

This is Andria's character, she is a female gargoyle with green skin, red hair and brown eyes. She has all your standard gargoyle powers and keen senses plus additional powers she gets from time to time including a sonic belch and fire breath which she sometimes gets from drinking large amounts of alcholic beverages.

• Memphis

Memphis is a turqoise gargoyle with yellow eyes and a voice and mannerisms similar to those of Elvis Presley. He possess your standard gargoyle powers and keen senses plus the ability to create earthquakes.

• Chicago

Chicago is a dark greyish gargoyle with green eyes and black stripes, he is based on Dan Akyroyd. He possessss all your standard gargoyle powers and keen senses plus the power to heal his allies when they are injured just by touching them.

• Toronto

Toronto is a lot like Broadway, he is also kind of based on the late John Candy. He is a large, hefty dark blue gargoyle with a big heart. He possess all your standard gargoyle powers and keen senses plus the power of heart and an amazing danger sense.

• Indiana

Indiana is Roc Hemmerson's character, he is a grey gargoyle with purple wings. He posssess all your standard gargoyle powers plus a new hidden power which is revealed later on.

• Texas

He is their faithful gargoyle beast pet.

• Cat

Kirsty's character, she's a werecat and a skilled ninja.

Heart Of Gold

Our mascot Chumsley was voiced by John Candy in our animated shorts, commercials and in Chumsley and Friends from 1982-1994.
When John died in 1994, we got Tino Insana to fill in.

You can still see more than a little bit of John's personality in him.

Chumsley the werejohncandy is pretty much a LOT like John Candy himself- he's kind of like a mix of some of John's best characters, he's a little bit of Ox, a little bit of Del Griffith, a little bit of Freddie Bauer, a little bit of Irv Blitzer and more than a little bit of ol Uncle Buck.
Tino Insana also provides the voice of Uncle Kong in our latest cartoon series Bonzi's Jungle Treehouse. Uncle Kong is based on the title character from Uncle Buck. He's basically John Candy as a gorilla.
We were very good friends with John Candy. We met him once. And the first parody we actually wrote when we were on Amiright was a parody of the song John Henry by Harry Belafonte and was the true story of how we met and became friends with him. We've also got this amazing story of how we saved his life once. You can view the music video for that song on
the Chumsley and friends seasons 1-2 dvd special features. Also you can view the original Chumsley and friends animated shorts featuring John as the voice of Chumsley. These animated shorts of ours aired during the early 1980's. You can also view the commercials featuring Chumsley- they are a parody of those commercials where people turn into monsters and similar stuff like that, in them someone (usually me) turns into Chumsley. We pulled that off using a variety of different techniques, including morphing, makeup, and special effects. You can also view the PSA's featuring Chumsley.

In mid 1984 we did a series of PSAs featuring Chumsley- each one with John Candy providing the voice of the character. These PSAs can also be seen as one of the special features on the Chumsley and Friends season 1-2 dvd boxset.

Chumsley the werejohncandy is our beloved mascot. He's been featured in quite a few of our animation projects. He's starred in a couple of episodes of Doizee's Fairy Tales. Doizee's Fairy Tales was a puppet tv show which is a spin-off of the Doizee Club kids show. In it Doizee tells her kids a variety of entertaining fairy tales. Chumsley plays the role of the Beast in the episode Beauty's Beast Friend which is kind of like the Disney version of Beauty And The Beast and the role of the Giant in the episode Sam And The Beanstalk (featuring Sam Leno as the title character) a retelling of Jack and the beanstalk.

There are a couple of books with Chumsley in them which we did. The first one is a storybook called Chumsley's Family Vacation and the other is a graphic novel called The Good, The Bad, And The Furry which is a satire of those Clint Eastwood style spaghetti westerns. He appears in quite a few SCTV books of ours including the SCTV Power Rangers crossover comic. There are action figures of him and his family available in stores as well as ones of his various relatives. These ones are also available in Cuddle Buddy form. In some of the SCTV video games we have he is a special guest character, in SCTV VS SNL he's an unlockable character.

There are several ways to unlock him- one way is to complete Arcade Mode using John Candy or one of his characters. The other way is to enter the word CUDDLEPAL as a cheat code on the cheat menu, and then there's the other way- go to character select mode, on the left side of the screen opposite John Belushi and Chris Farley is a box with a golden heart symbol on it- select that box and Chumsley appears.
The Chumsley And Friends Season 1-2 dvd boxset comes with a Chumsley Jumbo Cuddle Buddy (it's kind of like a beanie buddy) that talks, tells stories and sings songs. There's also a variety of John Candy mushabellies including one of Chumsley.

Wish upon a star

A dream is a wish the heart makes, and in dreams you can do anything you want.

Nothing is impossible in the dream realm. Me and my brother have invented a machine which enables us to record our own dreams and watch them in dvd format, it also comes with an early warning system that warns you of any nightmares that may be waiting to happen. We call it the Dream Weaver 6000.
Here are some of the things the Dream Weaver 6000 does:

• Deciphers your dreams and records them while you sleep. So you can watch them the next day in DVD format complete with special features including commentary.
  
• Allows you to choose your own dreams. With the Dream Maker option you can choose your own dream and have it your way, with everything you've ever wanted in it. Has an exstensive selection of themes, music, people, objects, animals, and other items.
  
• Has a "Nightmare" early warning system that warns you when you're about to have a bad dream. It also comes with a special glow in the dark dreamcatcher to catch nightmares in. You won't have to worry about bad dreams ever again.
  
• Can be used during the day as well as at night. You can also use it with our Imagination Tank Machine to make your wildest dreams come true and to liven up a boring a day at work or school. It's great fun at parties.
  
• Comes with "dream discs" , these disks are recorded dvds of your various different dreams, these are compatable with any kind of dvd playing device and on computers.
  Special software which allows you to make your dreams into a tv show, cartoon or movie.

You can find these in any knick knack or gadget store, and they don't cost very much at all, and the dream discs come free with it as well.

Thriller parodies

Thriller is one of Michael Jackson's most well known songs. They play it every halloween at parties. The music video itself is nothing short of amazing.

We've done quite a few parodies of the Thriller video. Probably one of our most notable examples of this was the Grinchmas themed one we did with Captain Comedy turning into a grinch at the beginning.

Similarily I once had a dream about us doing a parody of Thriller using Jim Carrey, and it was a pretty funny one too. If you look around somewhere, you might be able to find it on tv. Jim turns into a weregrinch in the video.

I also had a dream that was a Thriller parody with Jim's character from the Cable Guy in it.

Remember the John Candy tribute song Jc Jr wrote on amiright? Well me and my brother produced it and also made the music video for it. It's also the first music video of ours to have a werejohncandy in it. The werejohncandy makeup took over 3 hours to apply. Makeup artist Dan McCloud is the makeup genius who created the werejohncandy makeup and costume. The fur used was the same brown fur we used for a documentary we did on Bigfoot. Eugene Levy provided the "rap" and Joe Flaherty appeared as the character of Count Floyd from SCTV at the beginning and end of the video.

It is one of our most beloved music videos, and one of the first ones to involve a transformation sequence. The music video for the Bjork parody So Tim Burtonesque used stop motion animation in some parts and we used special morphing technology for the parts where the person in the video turns into characters from Tim Burton's films during the imagination sequences. Also Stain Boy and a few other characters from Oyster Boy and Other Stories appear in it as well - look for them in some of the imagination sequences and at the end.

This Is It

We saw This Is It today and it was really something special, my brother said it was the best compilation of MJ concert footage ever.

Michael looked pretty spectacular and his singing and dancing was truly something to behold.

I loved the Thriller segment where the backup dancers were all in monster makeup and there was this amazing graveyard set. It was different than the original video but in a cool way, the opening bit with the ghosts and ghouls reminded me of the film Beetlejuice and it was a little bit like MJ's short film Ghosts. The zombie brides and grooms were great as was the awesome giant black widow spider.

The earth song segment was lovely, I loved all the animal footage they had in there.

And the Smooth Criminal one was pure gold, it was kind of like the one from Moonwalker except even cooler.

Michael is, was, and always will be the king of pop. We will never forget him.

The Power Of Heart

Chumsley the werejohncandy is the most reknown member of our team. His real name is Charles Huggington Jr but he prefers to be called Chumsley.



He is probably the most powerful member of our team too even though some people don't realise it.

He is a composite of some of John Candy's best characters, he is also kind of like one of the imaginary friends my brother and I have - we once had a big bunny-like creature called Bunyip and he was really strong but he had a big heart.
















Now Chumsley has a lot of superpowers but his most effective one is the power of heart, some people think that the power of heart is lame but that's only because of the one kid from Captain Planet who possessed that power. Because of his power of heart, Chumsley is considered to not only be a great warrior but a true friend as well. He always looks out for his friends and family, he has 27 cousins and he loves them all so much even though they are a bit of a handful.

Chumsley and his family are probably the only werejohncandys around our neighbourhood as the werejohncandy is official labeled as endangered just like the giant panda. His home is in danger of being destroyed and we're going to help him by doing all we can to protect it. He's done so much for us and now we're going to return the favour.
