Freaky dreams

There are some dreams I’ve had that are kind of like AYAOTD (Are You Afraid Of The Dark)  episodes,  some of these are loosely based on childhood experiences and some are based around myths.

The Tale Of Villain Mountain:

This one takes place at Disneyland Paris and is centered around a ride which is themed around Disney Villains,  it is called Villain Mountain and is considered to be the scariest ride there -  even more so than Phantom Manor (aka the Haunted Mansion),  and rumour has it that this ride is actually inhabitated by the villains themselves who came back to get their revenge on the heroes and on Mickey for imprisoning them.   Villains featured in it are Ratigan,  Dr Facuilier, Chernabog,   Scar,  Jafar (human form, giant snake and evil genie forms),   Gaston,  Hades, Ursula,  Clayton,  Shan Yu, Yzma, Cruella,  Ursula, Captain Hook,   Pete and Maleficent.    Anyway,  a group of thrillseeking tourists are standing outside when one of the guys in the group dares John (that's the lead guy) to go on the ride.   John accepts the dare and takes his friends along with him but halfway through the ride comes to a halt and the villains kidnap him and his friends.  The villains intend on imprisoning the group of his friends in the very same place Mickey imprisoned them.   Mickey along with the Genie from Aladdin -  both riding on the carpet arrive to try and save John and the group but are stopped by Hades and Jafar.  Genie then has a magic duel with Jafar but somehow one of his spells backfires and ends up turning one of John's friends into a worm like the ones Ursula has.   Unlike most it ends with a downer-ending with John and the other guys being imprisoned with Mickey and Genie while the villains take over the entire park.

The Tale Of The Cross Country Course:

This one is centered on a rather mean and not to mention almost millitant gym teacher by the name of Mr Hubert Murray (based on one of my old school teachers) who makes his year 9 class of students go on a cross country course,  but this cross country course is one course that is not only rather difficult to complete but also rather dangerous -   it starts off at the short cut behind the playground then ends at the field with the year 13 class building.   The class of year 9 students have to make it through the first half of the course which leads them to the spooky woods -  and there are two paths - one leads to the other half of the course and the other leads to the forbidden zone.    The class take the path that leads to the other half of the course.    Their gym teacher catches up with them and the truth is revealed when they find out that their gym teacher is in fact actually a real monster who assumed the form of a human to trick his class.      The class becomes quite mad when they fond out they've been tricked but Mr Murray promises to make it up to them by rewarding them -  he then leads them into the year 13 class building  which is actually meant to be like a haunted mansion -   once they get inside -   he tells the class to wait while he gets the 'reward',   but while his class stands there waiting,  he sneaks up to one of the bookshelves,   grabs one of the books and says an incarnation -   a big glowing steel cage appears and falls down on the class,   the class realize that he tricked them a second time but this time they think of a clever plan to beat him at his own game.   The class challenges him to a race around the building.    The class wins and manages to escape from the building but not before locking their monster gym teacher in there for all eternity.

The Tale Of The Nightmare Aquarium:

This one is centered around a marine biologist named Dr Gill Jameson,   and he really loves his job as well as loving all kinds of sea creatures especially fish.     He begins experimenting and creating monstrous hybrids of humans and some of the scarier fish like the Angler fish,   piranha,  the great white shark,  candiru and a few others -  he also makes a special potion which enables his human/sea predator hybrids to walk on land as if they were amphibious and releases them out into the town to wreak havoc and destruction.    Eventually he decides to give it a try himself,  but the experiment goes awry when he falls into an empty tank filled with highly toxic water and finds him turning into a human/fish monster hybrid of his own.

The Tale Of The Secret Syndicate:

This one here is centered around a teenager who is heavily into monsters and other scary stuff and one day at school while picking a club to join he stumbles upon a club titled The All Ghouls Syndicate,  it's a club run by ghouls (similar to the one MJ turns into in Ghosts) and only ghouls can join as members but he doesn't realize this until it's too late,   however there is a way he can join but it's not at all pleasant -  he has to let one of the main members possess him and turn him into a ghoul like them -   for that is how a person joins - by becoming a ghoul.     He reluctantly accepts this and the grand marshall possesses him -    he finds himself turning into a ghoul himself and he likes it,  but he must keep it a secret from any of his friends or even from his own family.    His friends immediately begin to notice that something strange is going on and they have to find a way to bring their friend back to his old normal self.    Back at the syndicate hq the members prepare for the ceremony which is to take place between the hours of 10 pm and 11:30 in monster world time -    once the ceremony is finished and it reaches the midnight hour -  our hero will be a fully transformed ghoul.    So his friends have to figure out a plan to stop this from happening,   they disguise themselves as ghouls and sneak into the HQ building to try and save their friend and stop the ceremony -  in the end they are successful but they are eventually forced to join themselves.

The Tale Of The Ghostly Musician:

This story is centered around an eccentric but at the same time talented Michael Jackson-like singer who lives in a haunted mansion located just north of Average Town,   the townspeople have been hearing stories about him and have formed an angry mob outside lead by Mayor Dinkleman -   the mob head into the mansion to try and sort things out,   and the Mayor somehow manages to piss the singer off and the singer uses his ghostly magic to teach the mayor a lesson but he spares the townspeople.    He then tells them not to believe any of the stories and rumours that were said about him.    The singer and his 'family'  invite the townspeople to stay but they decline -  as they head towards the door a ghostly supernatural force causes it to slam shut all by itself and trapping them inside the mansion where they eventually spend the rest of their lives in with the singer.

The Tale Of The Last Note Nightmare:

This one is centered around a talented monster world composer who is composing his latest masterpiece one night when he suddenly finds himself turning into a werewolf-like monster and while it doesn't stop him from composing -  it does make him eventually wonder how it happened,   unfortunately his masterpiece never gets released but it does finish on a rather nightmarish last note followed by a wolf's howl after it.

The Tale Of Farm Of The Damned:

This one marks the first ever appearance of the demon cow known as Moocifer,  it takes place in an old farm on the country side and while it may appear to be normal during the day at night it's actually a farm inhabitated by rather demonic farm animals (including a weresheep like the ones from the NZ horror film Black Sheep) and a rather creepy shadowy figure refered to as Farmer Hand -  simply refered to as this because all we ever see of him is his ghostly hand.    Farmer Hand sends Moocifer out to terrorize a few sleeping mortals.    Moocifer flies through the window of a young man's bedroom at night and uses her femimine charm to try and invite the young man to come to the farm with her but the young man declines,   in a fit of rage she punishes him by turning him into one of the things he fears the most and takes him away and brings him back to the farm.    The young man is never heard from again.    This is the second one to have a downer ending.

The Tale Of The Cursed Script:

This one is centered around an actor who receives a screenplay from his agent for a movie based on an infamous novel.     He reluctantly accepts the offer but doesn't realize that the script he received was in fact a cursed script -   and that many of the actors that were considered for the lead character part were given the curse a few months later and met really horrible ends.   Pretty soon he suddenly gets the curse placed upon him and really horrible things start happening to him everywhere he goes and it's not just bad luck,   it's all kinds of supernatural juju going on.    He gets visited by the spirits of the deceased actors who were considered for the lead part who warn him that he'll end up the same way they did.    Eventually the curse becomes too much for him and he turns down the script before he buries it and seals it in an open grave.

The Tale Of The Haunted Cabin:

This one is centered on and stars one of my heroes -   the great Bruce Campbell.   In this tale,  Bruce Campbell and his close friends head off on a little camping trip,  but it goes awry when they come to a strange little cabin in the middle of the woods.     This brings back a series of really horrible memories Bruce had -  echoing scenes from Evil Dead II and causes the normally fearless b-movie actor to freak out.     The cabin is haunted and inhabitated by evil spirits,   Bruce himself becomes posssessed by an ancient supernatural entity and starts exihibiting some traits similar to Regan in the Exorcist (e.g 360 head spin,  projectile vomiting,   eerie glowing red eyes,  speaking in tongues).    His friends have to find a way to get the evil spirit out of Bruce so that he'll return to his normal self.    His friends make several attempts at performing an exorcism but a few of them fail -   but around the 7th time they try it it's a success and the evil spirit is vanquished and Bruce is returned back to normal,   however he still has to face his fear of possessed cabins.     Eventually Bruce does conquer his fear and they do make it out alive,  but before they head back to the car he tells Ted Raimi "Next time,  if you're going to choose where we're going.... check to see if it's haunted or not BEFORE you decide that we should go there."    Bruce and the others then get back in the car and drive off.

The Tale Of The Toymaster:

A group of teenagers are going shopping at a place known as the Palace Shopping Mall,   a place that has been open for centuries and has all kinds of shops -   from hardware stores and game arcades to various different stores selling supernatural items,   what they don't realize is that the mall hasn't had any visitors for years and at night it turns into a mall from hell.      That night the group of friends get trapped in the mall when it closes and end up being pursued by an assortment of terrors including possessed toys,    a few of the teens end up falling off one of the escalators to their doom and a few others end up getting trapped in the old Toys R Us store and fall victim to the Toymaster's magic.     First appearance of the villain Toymaster.

The Tale Of The Mountain King:

This one is inspired by the classical music piece In The Hall Of The Mountain King and also has the particular song itself playing as well.    It is about a rather mysterious weregrinch-like creature who is simply refered to as the Mountain King who looks like Jim Carrey's grinch and talks like Vincent Price (also has his laugh),    a group of brave but foolish climbers accept a dare to go up into the mountain king's lair and try and steal his scepter.    While attempting to do so,  they accidentally disturb the mountain king from his rest and the mountain king gets mad -   he uses his grinch breath to transform one of the climbers into a weregrinch just like him.    The rest of the climbers then are held as prisoners by the mountain king and his minions.

The Tale Of The Monstrous Chef:

This one is about a school cafeteria worker who makes extraordinarily disgusting food,  one night after the health inspector comes along and gives him a bad grade and threatens to have him fired,  he goes insane and starts making his meals out of real body parts and also starts trying to eat some of the children.   Later on the chef starts slowly turning into a monster after eating one of his own dishes and goes after the kids.    Some of the kids get eaten by the main group of kids manage to defeat him.

The Tale Of The Monster Maker:

This is one about a monster movie makeup artist (based on Rick Baker)  who can create almost any monster,  alien or animal and make it realistic,    one night when he's in his studio preparing for his next big project he decides to have a little bit of fun by putting some monster makeup on himself and goes around scaring people,    but it goes a little too far when he finds himself actually becoming like the monster he's made up as.

The Tale Of The Demonic Toy:

This one is about a teen who gets a new electronic toy for his birthday -  a Wooby (a Furby parody - made to look like a real furby does and has similar functions),     he is thrilled at first but then begins noticing that the toy starts exihibiting some rather strange and not to mention erratic behavior,  starts coming alive and starts coming after him -  the Wooby turns out to be possessed.    Our hero has to destroy the Wooby but no matter how many times he tries to do it -  the Wooby keeps coming back -   stronger and deadlier then before.    Eventually he does find a way to destroy it by throwing it down the staircase where the Wooby says in a demonic tone while falling and slowly coming apart...."You may be able to eliminate me,  but i will be back one day -  when you least expect it".  He then slowly comes apart and dies.    The teenager's mother sends a complaint to the company about the toy and the toy company sends her an appology note.    And all is back to normal in their household that is until another package arrives -  upon opening it the teen is horrified to see that there is another Wooby inside it.    The new Wooby looks all cute before it turns it's head around and says......"I'm going to get you.   Just you wait"  in a rather demonic tone.

The Tale Of Evil Jay:

This one takes place during the Leno/Conan late night talk show war at NBC,    Jay Leno's evil doppelganger Evil Jay is released out of his mirror prison and begins wreaking havoc -  using his dark magic to cause bad things to happen all over Burbank including turning some of Jay's own fans and followers against him,   he also casts an evil spell on Conan and Jay which makes them suddenly become hostile and start hating and blaming each other.    Jay confronts Evil Jay in the studio for a while and tries to get him to stop but Evil Jay uses his magic to trap good Jay in the same mirror he was imprisoned in.    A couple of hours later Conan enters the studio but can't seem to find Jay at all,  he hears Jay's voice coming from the mirror and Jay explains that his evil doppelganger used his magic to trap him in the mirror he had been imprisoned in before apologizing to him,    Conan accepts the apology and tries to find a spell to release Jay from the mirror -  he finds one and sucessfully gets Jay out,   meanwhile Evil Jay has assumed the form of the real Jay in an attempt to try and take over NBC.     Jay and Conan get to the NBC network office building where Evil Jay has captured the executives at NBC and is messing around with the broadcasting signals in the control panel -  and also trying to mind control the entire town of Burbank into doing his biding using a warped version of the tonight show theme (with a subliminal message that says Kill Leno at the end, if played backwards).    Jay tells Conan to deactivate all the machines in the control room so that Evil Jay won't be able to mess with the signal -   Conan does so while Jay confronts his evil doppelganger again,  this time successfully dodging his dark magic attacks and sending Evil Jay back into the mirror prison from which he came from -   but not before Evil Jay swears revenge on both good Jay and Conan and laughing maniacally.    Jay Leno plays a duo role in this playing both his normal good self and Evil Jay.
