The many types of fantasy gamers

This is a list of the many types of fantasy role playing gamers you would find at your local comic book store or convention.

  • The Court Jester- this guy serves as the comic relief, he makes numerous jokes and sometimes uses bad puns. He cheers his fellow players up when they're feeling down.
  • The Thespian- this one is truly dedicated to the game, he knows his character inside and out and can play with the best of them. Sometimes can be a bit over-the-top but still a great person to have in your "party" of heroes.
  • The Backstabber- this guy pretends to be one of the heroes but betrays the team much later on.
  • The Obsessive- similar to The Thespian only more melodramatic and over-the-top. On ocassion someone will ask..."Did someone order a large ham?" whenever this guy acts out.
  • The Rule Ogre- this one is a by-the-book kind of person, he/she often has to check the rules to see if what his/her teammates are doing is right or not.
  • Lord High Bloodsport- this one is a ruthless killing machine, often plays a barbarian type role. Often very aggressive and likes to smash things- they also like blood.
  • The Cheater- this one is a sneaky little scoundrel who often cheats and blaims it on a techinicality. Sometimes plays a rogue of some kind.
  • The Tyranical Dungeon Master- the big man himself, the one who calls the shots. Anything he says goes. Sometimes makes the heroes suffer either because he is bored or that he feels like it.
  • Sir Logic The Dullard- the resident know-it-all who tries to prove everyone else wrong. Sometimes plays a wizard type role.
  • The Virtual Lech- Mr Unpopular, the guy no one likes, often plays a lowly servant role.
  • The Stoner- the seriously baked guy who likes rock music, often plays a druid or a similar type of role.
  • Girlfriend Trying To Please Her Boyfriend- this girl is just here to impress her boyfriend and that's all, she doesn't know much about role playing and as such is sometimes cast as the damsel in distress.
  • The Mastermind- this person ALWAYS chooses to be a bad guy rather than a hero. Often laughs maniacally.
  • The Prince- this guy is a classic Ted Baxter character archetype similar to Gaston from Beauty And The Beast, often chooses to play the hero.
  • The Traitor- this one is similar to the Backstabber only much worse.
  • The Seductress- this girl is often a vampire or evil sorceress.
