On August 16th 1977 the king of rock and roll passed away....or so we thought he did. To many fans he is not dead, but he is still with us but in a very very very far away location like Evil Island (which is the island my good friend Tyrone The Terrible owns). Where is he? No one knows. But what we DO know is that Elvis Week is a big deal at Graceland because it's that special time of year while they pay their respects to their hero Elvis Presley. It's also a big deal to me and my brother. We have an Elvis Week at our theme park/museum thar is just as awesome as Graceland's one. For our one there's a fireworks display, and the ghost of Elvis comes to perform and gives presents to the fans and ones who are pure of heart. To please him during this week we sing carols like at christmas time.
This is an Elvis Week carol we sing every year:
There have been many singers.
Each great in their own way.
The one singer we're here for.
Is one you can't beat.
He's more precious than silver
And more splendid than gold
He's something to treasure
And something to behold.
As long as there's Elvis.
I truly believe
That we'll all be blessed.
On Elvis Week (Elvis Week)
We gather at Graceland.
It's the time to rejoice
To honour the king.
In awe of his voice.
As long as there's Elvis.
I truly believe
That we'll all be blessed.
On Elvis Week (Elvis Week)
There is more (so much more)
To Elvis Presley (to Elvis Presley)
Than sideburns and jumpsuits
Cadilacs and blue suede shoes.
Some singers come and go.
But there is only one king.
As long as there's Elvis.I truly believe That we'll all be blessed.
On Elvis Week (on Elvis Week)
As long as there's Elvis.
I truly believe (I truly believe)
That we'll all be blessed.
On Elvis Week (on Elvis Week)
That we'll all be blessed on Elvis Week.
Other festivites during the week include giving a peace offering, holding hands in harmony, and special appearances by the Ghost of Elvis. The Elvis ghost is created using a special effects program on the computer so it's like a hologram only more realistic. There's also lots of lights and other wonders.
