Picnik

The reason i  haven't been doing many photomanips recently is because currently my photoshop program is not working,  but don't worry i have managed to find a few alternatives -  mainly GIMP and this online photo-editing program called Picnik.

One of the cool things about Picnik is that you don't need to pay anything in order to register,   you can also edit not only fix your photos but can also edit them in many different ways,  i  like trying out the different featured ones as well as the holiday.    The halloween effects are simply fantastic,  you can use the Zombified 2.0 tool to turn yourself or your favorite celeb into a zombie - and don't forget the bloodstains and ghoul-eyes,   give yourself a wildman,  werewolf look or Chuck Norris beard with the fake beard brush,    turn yourself into a pale blood-sucking creature of the night with the Draculan dermis brush -  don't forget the vampire eyes,  fangs and the bloodstains.

If you want to try the program out for yourself here is the link,  registering is easy and it doesn't cost anything:

A Monster Halloween

Halloween is our favourite holiday. We always have really spectacular halloween parties, with pyrotechnics and everything. Our friend Tyrone The Terrible happens to be superb at throwing halloween parties as well- he usually hosts them in some really scary places. He held one in an actual haunted house last year. John Landis showed up as a guest to our halloween bash last year. Me and my brother love testing out our Monster Morpher machine, which is a special machine that gives you the powers of any monster you choose, there is a wide selection of monsters and the cool thing is that you can actually morph INTO the monster you've chosen. Do not worry, the transformations are painless, instanteous, and there's no transformation trauma involved- and the Brundlefly morph isn't too bad either. Tyrone The Terrible happens to love Halloween as well, he has his own monster morpher device as well as a watch that can turn him into one of 10 Disney villains.

The machine has a wide selection of monsters to choose from. What you are about to see are two lists, one is the list of main monster forms and the other is a list of additional monster forms.

Main monster forms:

  • Teen wolf/Big wolf on campus style werewolf

  • Vampire

  • Wocka Wocka Werebear.

  • Frankensteinian thing.

  • Zombie/Deadite.

  • Demon

  • Tim Burtonesque creature.

  • Brundlefly.

  • Swamp monster.

  • Muck monster.

  • Evil Ash.

  • Ash (Evil Dead movies)

  • Grim Reaper.

  • Terminator

  • Robocop

  • Freddy Krueger

  • Jason Voorhees

  • Chucky (Child's Play series)

  • Chestbuster alien

  • Grinch (Jim Carrey version)

  • The Mask

  • Cat creature

  • Human/reptile hybrid

  • Human/fish hybrid

  • King Kong

  • Godzilla

  • The following Star Wars alien species: Gungan, Wookie, Hutt, Toydarian, Ronto, Bothan, and Ewok.

  • Yeti

  • Sasquatch

  • Dragon

Additional monster forms:

  • Werebelushi family members: Werebelushi, werejackblack, werejosh (as in Josh Peck), and werehurley (Jorge Garcia of Lost fame).
  • Wereleno.
  • Chumsley the werejohncandy
  • Ghost
  • Undead Elvis.
  • Man-Bat (from the Batman comics and animated series)
  • Gargoyle
  • Sulley (Monsters Inc)
  • Ghoul Friend (this one is based on Andria, it's kind of like the Corpse Bride)
  • The following World Of Warcraft species: Elf, Pandaren, Orc, Tauren, Troll.
  • Loch Ness Monster

  • Genie

  • Phasm (magical ghost, kind of like Flabber from Beetleborgs)
  • Beast (X-Men)

  • Venom (Spiderman)

  • Carnage (also from Spiderman)
  • Igor

  • Shrek

  • Super Ghoul (Michael Jackson's Ghosts)

Now the monster morpher device is available in stores, it's sort of a wrist watch shaped like a skull. You can also get the Disney villain omnitrix watch that Tyrone The Terrible has- there are two of them- one is black and red and has 10 male disney villains on it and one is purple and has 10 Disney villainessess on it.

Rejected

A long while ago, me and my brother wrote a story for a transformation themed site called Doc's Lab (not to be confused with our lab of course). It was about a rockstar who turns into an antropomorphic Jim Carrey style grinch. We called it I Was A Rocking Weregrinch. After we finished typing the whole thing up we submitted to the website. Sadly, though it never got added to that big story list of theirs. So we assume it was rejected. We did a second one in a similar style except a little more light hearted, we called it Hollywood Grinch. It was about a star who gets a job performing as the grinch for the annual grinchmas celebration at universal studios- and ends up becoming a grinch himself (literally). This one also sadly got rejected, apparently those no talent losers at the Doc's Lab forum said it was too childish and that the main character was a "Marty Stu" type. They kept saying stuff like..."What, haven't you outgrown Dr Seuss yet?". Which if you ask me, was just plain insulting. They are wrong. The main character in the story is NOT a "Marty Stu" at all- he's a rich, mysterious Bruce Wayne type. The stories on Doc's Lab are good but some are just a little too rauncy for even my liking, and not to mention that some of the descriptions of the transformations are more than just a little graphic. There are a lot of good ones but there are some which really kind of turn me off and squick me out- and those ones are ones where innocent girls are turned into cows and ones where people become birds- I have an aversion to cows and birds. My mother HATES certain kinds of bird, one time during the summer we were in the backyard lying about, my mother was relaxing and this stupid bird comes flying by and sqwuarks at her twice, she then yells "Oh shut up bird!" and then swore at it. Bird tfs are absolutely the worst kind of animal tf there is, the beak growing part would be THE worst part of the thing- heck, I can't even describe how that part would go- just thinking about it makes me hurl. It would be like something out of Company Of Wolves (which is a brilliant werewolf film btw). Don't get me started on cow tfs, I have had an aversion to cows ever since I was forced to watch that Fingerprint Farm segment on Playdays when I was little. The damm cow from that segment always creeped me out and so did the owl- the owl was so spooky when it did it's "twit twoo toodleoo" hoot at the end of that segment. Cow tfs are horrible especially for the poor girl having to endure them. This is the precist reason why we DON'T do either one of those tfs. Heck, we stay away from hooved animals in general (except the moose of course, that's because weremoose is our close personal friend) and we steer clear from any birds. I guess those guys at Doc's Lab wanted something a bit more dark and edgy. We don't usually do stories like that. Sure we've done a few of those but those were just for a contest. We don't do dark and edgy- and I am no Tim Burton. We don't usually do ones with graphic transformation scenes in them-we've only do it once. But we DON'T do horrifying transformation scenes, I've only done it once but they're not as good as how David Cronenberg does them- and on a side note, I am no Seth Brundle/Brundlefly- even though people say I'm a lot like him.

Our grinch transformation stories can be seen in "Morphs, Legends, and Heroes" - a book compilation of short stories, poems and transcripts me and my friends have put together. It's quite an entertaining read. There's a couple of Millitary Koalas ones in there too including one my brother wrote which tell us about the origin of Andria's character Madonna. There's also one Chinstar wrote where his character teams up with Ash from the Evil Dead films. There's also quite a few about Chumsley in there. There's also a cute adventure story my brother wrote called Amiright Babies, it's kind of like Muppet Babies. And there's also a Rattastein Brothers short story we wrote.

Jeff Goldblum as Dracula

Me and my brother were big horror fans growing up, we loved watching movies like American Werewolf In London, Nightmare On Elm Street and Poultergiest. We used to watchTales From The Crypt on a regular basis (I got seasons 1, 5 and 7 on dvd for my birthday last year). But there's one thing that was too frightening for even our taste and that was the Goosebumps books by R.L Stine, they were supposed to be creepy I know but there was something a little too creepy about them, we used to be too scared to watch the tv series too. The episodes that scared us the most were Night Of The Living Dummy III, Werewolf Of Fever Swamp, One Day In Horrorland, An Old Story, The Haunted Mask, Calling A Creeps and The Girl Who Cried Monster. The one thing that bugged the hell out of us was why R.L Stine has that weird spot on his forehead, we never understood that. Yet again R.L Stine's overly calm demeanor was quite creepy in general especially when he was doing the host segments for The Haunted Mask/Haunted Mask 2, Night Of The Living Dummy III, A Night In Terror Tower and Werewolf Of Fever Swamp. Our old friend Kirsty used to have more than a few Goosebumps videos. And at one time had the cd rom Escape From Horrorland, not to mention she had all the books. One time when we were watching her play the game, we noticed that the bad guy you had to fight in vampire village looked familar. So early last week we went on the web to find out who he voiced this vampire and...believe it or not, we found out that the vampire was voiced by Jeff Goldlum of The Fly and Jurassic Park fame. I'm not kiding, he was the vampire in that Goosebumps game.

Here's a behind the scenes shot of Jeff:

Much Ado About Gastonians

There's a forum I visited regularly and that one forum is called Bittersweet and Strange, it's dedicated to Beauty And The Beast. There are several different kinds of fans that occupy there, fans of Belle are called Bellarians, fans of Beast are called Beasties, fans of Cogsworth are called Coggsies, Lumiere fans are called Lumies, and the most infamous are the fans of Gaston which are called Gastonians. I myself am a Gastonian, probably the most Gastonish gastonian around. I am Gastonian #342. A Gastonian's love for Gaston is contageous, once you've got it there's no turning back. We're like one big epidemic, sort of like a virus from one of those zombie movies but we don't turn people into brain-eating zombies like in Return Of The Living Dead.

Me and my friends have started our secret society of Gastonians, if you wish to join you're more than welcome to but you have to follow the gastonian code.

  • It is illegal to say anything bad about Gaston.

  • It is now illegal to say no to Gaston in anyway.

  • It is now illegal to humilate Gaston in public.

  • For females: It is now illegal to read when in the presence of Gaston.
Valentine's Day shall now be named Everyone Loves Gaston Day. Where you are to worship him like if he was a god.

  • For males: It is now illegal to say that you are better than him.

  • It is illegal to make him look bad in anyway.

  • From here on, boasting is now a state sport.

  • The Gaston song will take the place of Happy Birthday as the birthday song.

  • It is now illegal to make any wisecracks or really bad jokes about him and that includes making an insulting version of the Gaston song.

  • A portrait or poster of Gaston should be hung-up on every wall.

  • Everybody must have a Gaston shrine in their room.

  • All Gaston Fan Club meetings and other matters at hand are to be held in the rec room also known as the Fortress Of Gastonitude.

  • No Beasties (Beast fans) are allowed in the secret society Gastonians.

  • To join the secret society of Gastonians, you must become a Gastonian yourself. To do this you must get bitten by one, after doing so you will undergo a painful American Werewolf In London style transformation.

  • Once you become a Gastonian, there is no turnin back once you're a Gastonian the only transformation options available are into Gaston himself, his super modes (such as Big wolfish werewolf Gaston, vampire Gaston and Beastman Gaston) or a hybrid of both yourself and him.

  • Never make Gaston mad.

  • The town shall be renamed Gastonopolis.

  • The most important rule of the secret society of Gastonians is that you must never mention it to any non Gastonian.

  • Sucking up to Gaston is required.

  • Obey all the other rules.

Gastonishness is contageous. Looks like i've already been bitten by the Gaston bug. You know what they say....once bitten, twice shy ("Once Bitten, you will feel no pain boy, once bitten, singing in the rain boy...lightning starts, oh oh, hearts will be mine forever, gonna be mine forever, you won't feel the pain boy. you see the light, and hear the thunder, I need your touch it's a spell you put me under, been known to know you, gonna be mine forever and I aint lyin!"). From the looks of it I really am starting to become Gastonian- very gastonian indeed.

PS: If you're wondering what song those lyrics are from, it's from a song titled Once Bitten it's by a band named 3-Speed, and it was from an 80's vampire flick starring a young Jim Carrey-the film itself was called Once Bitten. The lyrics are almost imposible to find.

This is a photomanip I did for one of my comics it's called the Gastonian. I dedicate to Trudi Rose. A Gastonian's love for Gaston is contageous, you see....us Gastonians are like vampires... except we that don't drink human blood, turn into bats or evapourate into dust if we get hit by sunlight.

The Dropbear: Real Or Fake?

Welcome to Myths From The Other Side. The segment where we examin the stories behind adifferent mythicals animal from across the globe. Today we are going down under to uncover the truth about the deadly dropbear. In Aussie folklore a dropbear is supposed to be a large, carnivorous almost vampric koala that "drops down" from the trees onto the heads of any victim that comes it's way. This is used as a tall tale that Australians used to scare, confuse or amuse tourists. We are quite facinated by this.

This is Killoala, one of the characters from our Creepy Critters range of Gremlins style plush animals. Killoala is a blue dropbear with a black stripes, a star on his forehead and a blood red marking on his stomach. In his "mutant" form he has fangs, devil horns, claws and black bat-like wings. Killoala has inspired by the Dropbear legend and the plush Werebears that the Hornby toy company made in the early 80's (the werebears were plush teddies that were reversible- you could turn their heads and paws inside out to "transform" them from cute to scary). The Creepy Critters range of plush toys were inspired by the 1980's horror comedy Gremlins.

This is Morlock the dropbear, one of the villains from our popular cartoon series Millitary Koalas. His voice is done by Tim Curry (who is known for his delightfully creepy, villainous but yet seductive voice). Morlock first appeared in the episode Rock N Load- which was a special musical episode done in the style of a rock opera. In it, Morlock (who was banished and sent to live down in the down Under Underworld by the Bunyip King) uses his special brand of dark magic to bring everyone's worst fears to life and turn the city into a city of nightmares. Morlock was "defeated" and was sent back to the down Underworld by the heroes. However he makes a return in Millitary Koalas: The Movie, and this time he's got something much bigger planned. Morlock's mustache and goatee is a nod to how some evil twins in tv and movies have a goatee like Spock's evil twin from that one episode of Star Trek and Buzz Lightyear's evil clone from an episode of Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command.

In April 5th, 1992 we produced a short horror flick called Killer Koalas From Another World. It was filmed in Australia and was inspired by the dropbear myths. We created animatronic dropbears especially for the movie. We entered the film in the local film festival, it won the following awards: Best Soundtrack, Best Score, Best FX, Best Short Film, and Best Horror Film. The animatronic dropbears used for the movie can be viewed in our museum of props from our films. The movie is very good and is also available on dvd- however it is quite hard to obtain.

The dropbear is indeed an interesting creature. The story behind it is also interesting. The dropbear:

Electronic Scarers

Sick of intruders trying to steal items from your own home? Then purchase our Electronic Scarers. The scarers are basically cute, electronic versions of famous horror icons that are tailor made for scaring away intruders.

They are:
  • Freddy Krueger (appears in the intruder's nightmares and brutally murders them in their sleep, also says plenty of one-liners)
  • Jason Voorhees (stalks the intruder then chases after them with his chainsaw)
  • Ben Willis (appears in front of the intruder, then stabs them in the hand with his hookhand)
  • Norman Bates (scares them in the bathroom, then hacks them to death with a kitchen knife)
  • Chucky and Tiffany (pretend to be innocent dolls, then kill the intruder in a very merciless fashion)
  • Hans (stares at them with his creepy eyes)
  • Chestbuster alien (causes extreme body horror to the intruder)
  • American Werewolf wolf (growls, then mauls the intruder)
  • Seth Brundle/BrundleFly (does the "vomit drop" on the intruder)
  • Sweeney Todd (slits the intruder's throat)
  • Jerry Dandridge (turns into his crazy cartoonish vampiric form and hissess at the intruder)
  • Penny Wise (takes on the shape of the intruder's worst fear)
  • Jack Torrance (goes ax crazy on the intruder)

Millitary Koalas The Movie: Bad Guy info.

A while back we asked fans of our show Military Koalas which bad guy they would love to see in a full length movie of the show. We asked them to vote for the bad guy of their choice, the bad guy choices were: Dingo Dan, Manogator (the half man half aligator), Draco the Lizard Man, or Morlock the Dropbear. And the bad guy who got the most votes was....Morlock the dropbear.

This is Morlock. He is a dropbear. Dropbears are basically vampire-like koalas that the Australians use as tall tales to scare tourists. Morlock the dropbear's voice is done by the great Tim Curry (who played Darkness in Legend). Morlock first appeared in the special rock opera episode of the show. Our good friend Tyrone The Terrible is a Tim Curry fan and a specialist in the art of writing villain songs (he wrote the Vizini villain song Inconcievable and many more villain songs including his own villain song, last August he and I worked on a villain song duet), he wrote the lyrics to Morlock's villain song from the rock opera special. In a musical, the villain song is a special song that is sung by the villain- sometimes it's about themselves and sometimes it's about their evil plan. . We dug deep into the dank, dark and spooky depts of the Nightmare Fuel and High Octane Nightmare Fuel pages to get inspirations for the dark dimension Morlock lives in known as the Down Under Underworld. Millitary Koalas: The Movie will be released in cinemas this weekend.

For examples of villain songs, head over to the tv tropes villain song page via this link: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VillainSong

We also advice that you must NOT under any circumstances, visit the Nightmare Fuel and High Octane Nightmare Fuel pages before bed- it will give you non-stop nightmares.

Also be warned: TV Tropes will ruin your life. (I'm just kiding, that site is awesome).
