Haunted Mansion

One of my fellow bloggers has a blog centered around all the little secrets we didn't know about Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride,    now i've never actually been on the ride itself -   but i have had quite a few nightmares which kind of take place at  Phantom Manor which is what the Haunted Mansion is called in Disneyland Paris.

Many of these take place at Disneyland Paris,   basically it starts with me,  my brother and friends at disneyland Paris -   we're walking through the park   -   now unlike in real life one of the main "lands"  is gone -   it's Discoveryland,  but FantasyLand,   Frontierland and  Adventureland remain -    in place of the Cinderella Castle there is the castle from the Disney logo opening sequence -  and the haunted mansion itself is located in Frontierland but is made slightly bigger than the actual one so takes up almost the entirety of the land.    And the clock kind of strikes midnight and disneyland goes dark,   and some unknown force begins pulling me and my brother towards the mansion and into it,    as this goes on we hear the Ghost Host's voice but unlike the voice of the one in the real life Haunted Mansion ride  it doesn't sound like Paul Fees at all  -   this version of Ghost Host sounds more insane -    his voice sounds a bit like Mark Hamil's Joker with the Cryptkeeper and Carnage from the Spiderman playstation game thrown in and he is a lot more insane than the Paul Fees ghost host of the actual haunted mansion -   so much so -  that he actually tries to have some of the riders get killed off so that they can become ghosts or ghouls.     The unusual thing is that no matter how many times my brother and I try to escape,   i can't seem to move my legs in the dream at all  (even though IRL i'm perfectly capable of walking on two legs). Sometimes the ghost host will trap the riders in a room  of some kind and then use his ghostly magic to possess someone.

Now sometimes we make it out alive and sometimes one of my friends gets killed off,    sometimes i am completely aware it's a dream,  then open my eyes but sometimes it turns out to be real sometimes too,   in some cases after all i open my eyes and go..."Oh it was just a dream."   The Ghost Host's voice can be heard saying..."That's right it was a dream....or was it?"  in a sinister tone before letting loose this really terrifying insane evil laugh.

Now i'm not sure if these nightmares were actually brought on by the ride itself or by just a few glimpses of it or by the grim grinning ghosts singalong but this is one of the most memorable nightmares i've ever heard and the haunted mansion is to blame for that.

Now i wouldn't have minded if the Ghost Host sounded like Vincent Price,   Tim Curry,    Alan Rickman or even the Paul Fees one but the voice of the Ghost Host in this particular nightmare freaked the hell out of me -  especially the laugh.
