PSAs

Public Service Announcements or PSAs as they are often called sometimes tend to have some scary and disturbing imagery in them,    this is probably intentional so  they have to scare us straight.    There's quite a few i remember,   one of which is one about fire safety and features a cgi fireball that talks like a tough brookyln accent -   it starts off with these kids at a friend's house playing video games and the smoke alarm goes off -   this fireball with a tough brookyln accent shows up and sings a song about how to escape out of a burning building for a second before he actually starts burning some items in the room down.    The real disturbing part is that when he see the fireball next -  he's starting to burn the whole place down but the kids escape just in time.

This is one of the ones that made me afraid of fire,    there was also an episode of a educational cartoon series i watched in my spanish class in college -    i can't remember the name of the series but it was about a king named El Rey (who was sort of lion-like) and his royal family including his wife,  two sons,  his niece,  and their manservants and their pet monster.    It's not a Disney or Don Bluth cartoon or movie,  it was an educational series teaching viewers how to speak spanish.

In this one episode of the series the two sons go out into the woods to go find some treasure or something,   the two of them stumble upon a cave of some sort,   they are advised not to go in there but one of them doesn't listen and goes into the cave to try and find the treasure,   and as he walks into the cave -   he keeps hearing these really menacing growling noises and a shadowy figure seems to be lurking around in the darkness -   as the growling noise gets louder and louder -    he runs faster but ends up falling,   and when he turns he sees a pair of demonic red eyes staring at him from the darkness,   -  we then see the poor guy get dragged into the shadows by a scaly,  greyish monster-like hand with clawed fingernails.     I'm not making this up -   this is a REAL educational cartoon series episode.    We think that the monster is going to eat him -  but we find that soon -  the monster used it's breath on the guy and he slowly starts transforming into a monster  himself.

So it's up to his older brother to try and stop the monster and find  a way to turn his brother back to normal,  he goes into the cave to confront the monster and challenges him to a duel of sorts -   the monster releases his army of bats but he manages to use some of the magic that the king's loyal magician taught him to fend off the bats and to fight off the monster's attacks.      The monster tries using his breath attack on him,  but he ducks out of the way and  gets out his blade -   being that this is a kid's cartoon of sorts and educational -   he doesn't kill the monster -   well he defeats the monster but there is no blood or gore involved,   so when the monster is defeated -   we see his brother turn back into his normal self.

I can't really remember what the series was called but if anyone knows what it's called please leave a comment.
