Musical numbers that weren't included in the final version of Leno

There were some musical numbers that we didn't include in the final version of Leno but can be seen on the 2 disc edition dvd and blu-ray. Some of there were cut because they took too much time or nixed because of questionable content. Here's what they were:

  • You Don't Stand A Chance

This one was meant to be Dave Letterman's villain song. In this one Dave was to try and tell a naive Jay (me) that he stands no chance of beating him in the ratings. Got cut because it took up time.

  • Dear Brother

This was a rather sad musical number Jay sings about the loss of his brother Patrick. Got nixed after Sam Leno/Chinstar found it to be too depressing.

  • My Way

Jay's big victory song that was supposed to be near the end of the movie. It was supposed to be a big Buxby Berkelely style musical number like Be Our Guest from Beauty And The Beast and have Jay singing a rendition of My Way by Frank Sinatra (on in this case Elvis Presley). Got cut because it was too expensive.

  • Animal I've Become

This one was meant to be kind of an alternative rcck number Jay sings after finding what that ruthless Helen has done to him. In it Jay (me) struggles with his dark side (Evil Jay, also me). It is just like music video for the Three Days Grace song of the same name. Except when looks in the mirror or similar reflective objects he sees the reflection of Evil Jay (looks just like him except for black hair, grey skin, small vampirish fangs and piercing red eyes) there at least twice. The ending for this is slightly different than the one from the Three Days Grace music video, for example Jay smashes the mirror with a baseball bat. This one got nixed after Sam Leno/Chinstar thought it was too dark and that Jay's actions in it were out of character.

  • That Mystery Girl

This was a song that was supposed to be an 80's style number a teenage Jay sings about Mavis when he first spots her in the hall. This one nixed because Sam Leno/Chinstar thought it was too happy.

  • Carnac

This was Carnac the magnificent's I am song. In it Carnac tells us all about himself and his amazing psychic powers. This one got nixed because of technical difficulties.

  • I'd Love A Hunka Hunka Steak

This was a big Elvis style number Jay sings about his favourite food- meat products. It features Jay dressed as Elvis Presley. This number almost got put into the final version but I got injured while rehearsing the Elvis dance moves.

  • Give Me A Chance.

This was Jay's other I Want song. He sings about his desire to be a comedian and such. Got nixed because of time.

  • Dorito Man

This was supposed to be a parody of the Spiderman theme song. Jay was supposed to sing this in the Dorito's commercial scene. Strangely, this is the only one of these songs that made it into the final version.
